Summarchive for Zoom · Last updated 27 October 2026
Summarchive for Zoom is a browser extension published by Mihai Garda Popescu. It downloads your own Zoom AI meeting summaries (the feature formerly called AI Companion) to your computer. It is built to handle as little data as possible.
What the extension accesses
- Your Zoom meeting summaries and their metadata (topic, times, host email, summary text), read through the official Zoom API after you sign in with Zoom and grant permission. Only summaries of meetings you hosted are accessible with the requested scopes.
- Your Zoom profile basics (name, email, plan type) to show which account is connected and to explain plan-related limitations.
Where data goes
-
Summaries are fetched directly from
api.zoom.usinto your browser, written into a ZIP file, and saved to the folder you choose. They are not sent to the developer or to any third party. - Fetched summaries are cached in your browser profile’s local storage (IndexedDB) so interrupted exports can resume. You can delete this cache at any time in Settings → Local data, and it is removed when you uninstall the extension.
- Your Zoom sign-in tokens are stored in the extension’s local storage and are used solely to call the Zoom API on your behalf. Disconnecting in Settings deletes them.
Payments
Optional paid features are processed by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) and Stripe. Each time you open the extension, it asks ExtensionPay whether a license is paid. That check identifies the installation. It does not include summary text, and it happens even if you never pay. When you buy or restore a license, ExtensionPay receives your email address and payment details; the extension itself receives only a paid / not-paid status. See ExtensionPay’s privacy policy for details. No payment data is stored by this extension.
What the extension does not do
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising.
- No remote code: all code ships inside the extension package reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.
-
No access to any website other than
zoom.us,api.zoom.us, andextensionpay.com(the license check and, if you choose to pay, the payment page). - No selling, sharing, or transferring of user data to third parties, and no use of data for purposes unrelated to exporting your summaries.
Limited Use disclosure
The use of information received from Zoom APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long data is kept
- Meeting summaries and Zoom sign-in tokens stay on your device. Delete the cache in Settings, disconnect Zoom, or uninstall the extension, and those local copies are gone. Summarchive has no server that stores them.
- If you pay, ExtensionPay and Stripe keep the email and payment record under their own policies. The extension does not keep a copy of the card.
- This website has no accounts. A host that serves the files may keep ordinary server logs for as long as that host’s own policy says.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal data described above, and you can object to its use. Because summary text never leaves your computer, the practical steps are on your machine: disconnect Zoom, delete the local cache, and uninstall. To delete or correct a license email or payment record, email mihaigpm@gmail.com. You can also ask ExtensionPay and Stripe directly, since they hold that record.
